SafeShot is a product to enable a smartphone to take a picture of a partial solar eclipse without damaging the camera element. It includes a viewing window for looking through by eye while holding the phone. Simple and kind of clever IMHO.

This SafeShot device is patented and is AAS approved for eclipse viewing. The company makes plastic film and they developed and tested their own film for ISO compliance and have certifications on their website.
